There are a few things that make up the recipe for a perfect outfit in my book.  Mix comfort with confidence and you've got it.  I love this outfit because it's so comfortable but the black leather jacket plus the over the knee boots make me feel like I have just hopped off a motor cycle and I'm ready to do anything.  In reality, I've never even sat on a motor cycle, but no one has to know that.

5 Thanksgiving Recipes

Happy almost Thanksgiving!!!! I'm so excited to celebrate the holiday tomorrow! After a long day of classes and traveling yesterday into the evening, I'm happy to be able to relax at home for this short break.  I think I love Thanksgiving so much because I love cooking and baking.  Since coming to college I've appreciated it even more because I'm deprived of a kitchen most days of the school year, so I can't bake or cook whenever I want to.  I've picked out some recipes (some that I might bake today!) and thought I should share them with you all in case you're searching for some things to make this Thanksgiving eve, or just want a fun new recipe!

Candied Pecan Sweet Potato Caserole (pictured above) Oh my goodness, this recipe looks incredible.  Scrolling through the pictures instantly made my mouth water and crave a Thanksgiving meal.

Homestyle Sausage Stuffing This recipe looks easy to follow and sounds like it'll make a perfect stuffing with yummy sausage.

Spinach Gratin I am head over heels in love with spinach ever since my trip to Italy over the Summer.  I just love it so much and can't wait to see this recipe on my plate tomorrow!! (I'll let ya'll know how it turns out!)

Pumpkin Cream Cheese Cake Balls YAAAASS. These are so good (or at least I can imagine).  I think I made something similar a few years ago and they were a big hit.  I like making small, or mini, recipes for Thanksgiving desert so that it's easier to try a little of everything and not get too too too full.

Caramel Apple Mini Cheesecakes with Streusel Topping  How good does the title of that recipe sound? My family loves cheesecake and it fits into Thanksgiving with the "caramel apple" bit, so how could I pass on making this one this year?

Gifts for the Guys


Patagonia Vest I love this vest and know a lot of guys who love wearing Patagonia.  This vest is a great option for guys because it's more budget conscious ($99) than the full fleece and it's a little more unique too. 

S'well Water Bottle  This water bottle is just amazing! I haven't really expressed my love for S'well on here much yet, but I really love mine! This wood patterned one is pretty ~masculine~ for all the guys! 

Turntable If you know a guy that loves music, a turntable could be a great gift.  The Crosley Cruiser from target is about $79 and is such a fun way to listen to all your favorite songs. 

Barbour Socks These socks are just so cute.  Any dog lover may appreciate these as a stocking stuffer or small gift! 

Needlepoint Hat Who doesn't love a fun hat? I love the needlepoint hats from Smathers and Branson  and they come in a variety of different styles including sports teams and schools! 

Tartan Scarf This scarf is great and super wintery.  I can imagine a lot of guys loving this to wear during the holiday season.

Does this come in Suede?

Did you catch this suede dress on the blog last week?
The title is a direct quote from me on multiple occasions while shopping recently.  I'm on a suede frenzy and I love it.  I feel like most fall and winter seasons I've only worn suede in shoes but this year I want everything suede.  Luckily, there's so much suede available in stores right now to fill my desire.  I just love how soft and comfortable the material is and Suede can just make any outfit look ten times better.

Normally, I don't acknowledge the Holidays until after Thanksgiving.  Well, I guess technically the Holidays includes Thanksgiving.  But I'm talking about true Christmas (and Hannukah or whatever else you celebrate!) spirit type of holidays.  This year, I've embraced it with open arms.  I can't wait for December (but then again I can because I don't want to take finals).  To kick off my gift guides, here's some things under $30! I wanted to keep it under $25 but I had a pretty hard time finding things for under $25 that weren't classic stocking stuffers, have you found any amazing gifts under $24 this year? November Playlist


Some of this month's playlist has been influenced by my commitment to spin class these past few weeks.  I've been going about twice a week for the past three weeks and I love it!! I love the music and the workout is great (so much better than if I were at the gym alone).  Also, how could I post this playlist with out Adele's incredible Hello!? I love this song so much and I'm so happy Adele is back!

Suede Dress

I know I posted an Instagram wearing this outfit a week ago, but it's seriously my favorite.  I can not rave about this dress enough.  It's so incredibly soft and stretchy; I never want to take it off.  Suede is so in this fall, maybe this year more than ever.  (Stay tuned for a suede filled post in a few weeks!).  After wearing this dress and falling in love with it I've had my eye out for anything suede.  This dress is perfect for fall and comes in three colors!  I styled it with this light silk scarf from J.Crew a few years ago, but I've also worn it with a fun necklace and other scarves. 

Now that I'm going to link where the dress is from I've noticed that it's out of stock!!!! I'm so upset but found another very similar dress linked above!

Instagram Lately

I feel like it's been a little while since my last Instagram recap on the blog.  Life has been non-stop recently which has been making the weeks feel like they're flying by.  There's only a few more weeks left in the semester really and I can't believe it.  I feel like I posted most of these instagrams just a few weeks ago but some were from really a long while ago! Over parents weekend I went to try out Oddfellows, a brunch/lunch restaurant in the Bishop Arts District in Dallas.  I tried going here last year but the wait was too long, and after going I can see why so many people were waiting that day.  It was delicious; I'd recommend it if you're ever in Dallas!

This outfit has been on repeeeeeaaaat. Seriously though.  If I need to run out the door really fast this is the dress I've been throwing on.  It's, 1. faux suede and extremely soft and 2. the stretchiest piece of clothing I have ever put on.  


Shopping at Mackenzie Horan's Design Darling shopping night was so much fun! I loved getting to see a lot of her inventory in person and making a few purchase like the business card holder, topiary, and lisi lerch earrings!

Dallas just got cold enough to wear this sweater dress a few weeks ago and I was so excited.  Although it did get very hot once the afternoon hit, I was perfectly content with dressing for fall finally.  Check out this post for more pictures of this look.

Sweater Dresses

There's nothing comfier than a sweater dress.  If the temperature's just warm enough, a sweater dress can be the perfect fall staple.  Paired with riding boots and a good scarf you have the perfect fall outfit.  For the past few years I've worn a sweater dress to thanksgiving and it has been the perfect mix of cute and comfort.  I think that a great sweater dress is a college staple because most are very versatile. You can wear one comfortably and casually to class or dress it up with some jewelry and heels for something a little fancier.  

I have #4 on this list from Madewell and it's the SOFTEST thing ever!!! And it's a turtleneck so who can complain? If you want to see how I styled it click here!

Poncho Love



I remember the knit ponchos I used to wear in elementary school.  Specifically, a bright purple one that I loved.  Looking back, I would never think that I would be able to wear one again and love it just the same.  Now, ponchos today are a little oversized and effortlessly chic (and certainly not bright purple).  Everywhere I go I find myself wanting to try on ponchos.  I have had to stop myself a few times because I already own two and haven't worn them that often that I feel like I could justify buying another.  Instead of shopping for myself, I'm shopping for ya'll today! My eyes were so hungry for ponchos that I've been obsessed with finding different style ponchos online.  I've definitely added a few to my christmas list...
