Interior Inspiration

I am the least bit inclined to organizing on a day-to-day basis like some are, I usually have to find some sort of motivation to clean and organize my room effectively.

Seeing pictures of other rooms that look organized and sleek gives me that little "push" I need to start organizing.  I hope this has inspired you all to go organize your spaces on this sunday (It's the last in June?!? How did that happen?)

Save or Splurge?

I've been in the market for a new weekender/overnight bag for sometime now,  and saw the J.McLaughlin Sail Cloth Duffle (left) and fell in love.   I thought it was absolutely perfect for short trips or even to bring as a carry-on while traveling on a plane! I was set on ordering this bag until I saw the price... this bag ranges from $245-$300 (depending on size and if a monogram is ordered).  I just couldn't justify spending that much.

A couple weeks later I noticed that Marley Lilly was having a Flash Sale and decided to browse.  Amongst the wonderful items in the sale was their Sunshine Duffle bag! Which looks very similar to the J.McLaughlin bag!!! The Marley Lilly bag only cost me $69.99 as it was part of the Flash Sale, but it normally retails for $94.99.  I still think that $94.99 is a great deal for this bag! It would definitely fit a lot and I can see myself getting great use out of it!

Marley Lilly offers the monogram in many different colors and styles, so you can really personalize it however you'd like!

The only regret I have about my bag is that the Navy monogram doesn't match the navy on the bag! It's just a small detail but it would have been nice to have the two blues completely match.  If I were to order this again I may have ordered the monogram in the colors "Coral", "Burnt Orange",  or "Yellow".  I also may have gotten the monogram in a different style such as "Circle Block"or "Diamond".

All of my nit picking aside, I am in love with this bag and am so happy that I made the purchase from Marley Lilly!! You're all in luck because there is another flash sale tonight starting at 8PM! So set an alarm or something and check if this bag will be on sale! (I can't guarantee that it will but I have a feeling it might be!)

Can't wait to use this bag on my trip to Hershey Park next weekend!

June Favorites! 2013

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

How is it already the end of June? This is crazy! However, I can't complain because one of my favorite holidays is coming up in just a few days (July 4th!!!).  I thought since i'm stuck in bed recovering from having my wisdom teeth removed it would be a perfect time to post my favorites from this past month!

1. It's a 10 Miracle Leave in Product. Boy Oh Boy, I don't think I can even begin to describe my love for this product.  It's absolutely incredible! I have very straight hair that usually doesn't take any product well, it just results in a greasy mess which is no fun! But I decided to try this products because it does so many things all in one! It... repairs dry damaged hair, adds shine, smoothes and controls frizz, seals and protects hair color, flat iron spray and thermal protector, detangles, stops hair breakage, creates silkiness, enhances natural body AND prevents split ends!!!! It's incredible, especially if you're like me and always forget to spray a thermal protector or spend forever trying to detangle knots after a shower! I also love the finishing spray from this line, so go check that out too!

2. Stila Kitten Eyeshadow. I've heard such great things about this shadow and have finally caved and made the purchase, and I could not be happier! It's just the color i've been looking for!! It's a perfect color for summer because it's light and really brightens my eyes.  I like to apply this all over my lid and apply Urban Decay's buck (a matte brown) to the very outer corner!

3. J.Crew Thistle Print Popover.  I love this shirt for summer! It goes perfectly with jean shorts for a casual look or with mint or white jeans for night time when it's a little cooler.  It's such a comfy shirt that i've already worn it so often this summer and probably will continue! I have a soft spot for popovers (food wise, and clothing wise... this is making me hungry now! Go try some pastry popovers while we're at it...) they're just so comfortable and easy!

4. Marina Shep Shirt.  I was actually shopping in J.Crew the other day when I saw a girl wearing this shep shirt with nantucket red j.crew chino shorts and it looked so amazing that I ran straight to the Vineyard Vines store to see if they had it.  Unfortunately, they didn't but I was able to order it and it came just a few days later! I don't think i've ever loved a shep shirt this much, it's just the perfect summertime shep shirt! I love carrying this around at night when i'm down the shore to throw on when it gets cold.  (I actually even bought Nantucket Red pants from j.crew after seeing that girl, and I love wearing them together).

5. J.Crew Minimergency Kit. I've seen these things all over for the past year or so but I never thought they'd really be worth it.  While in paris one of my friends had one and I actually ended up using a nail file and clear nail polish from her kit! Once I returned I knew i'd have to get one because it was so useful on our trip! I saw this silver one at J.Crew and fell in love with the pattern!

6. Target Lavada Sandal. I feel like everyone and their mother has these, so on a recent trip to Target I knew I had to go see if they had my size! And... they didn't.  But that didn't stop me from buying them! I got them a size up because I  had fell in love with them! Not only are they cute, but they are super comfy and durable too! I wore them on a recent trip to visit 4 colleges and I wore them on each tour! I never got blisters and my feet weren't the least bit sore! It was great!

I hope you all have had a great June and wish you all an even better July!
If you have any requests for Blog posts feel free to message me about them (here).
