SHOPBOP Sale!!

My all-time favorite store Shopbop is having an amazing sale right now!! Everything is 20% off, but if you spend over $500 you can get 25% off with the code EOTS17! I've made four collages for my top four categories to shop during this sale: formal dresses, tops, casual dresses, and shoes!

If you don't have an account with Shopbop I would definitely recommend signing up! You can get 15% off your first purchase and they are starting a rewards program soon! My favorite part about having an account is being able to "like" an item I think is cute throughout the year and then when this bi-annual sale comes around I can easily find the things I love.

Silver Details

After a brief hiatus last week, I'm back! School got a little busy last week and I started running out of pre-scheduled content so ended up taking a small break from posting. This past weekend was my last family weekend at college. It was exciting to see my parents again and also great to spend some time with them taking pictures! They are always great when it comes to taking pictures for the blog for me!

I've been throwing this dress on so often lately because it is incredibly comfortable and I have been surprised by how many compliments I get on it. I love wearing it with these silver mules too!

Fall Favorites

Fall weather hits Texas way later than it hits up North. So shopping for Fall can be a little tricky when every store is selling thick sweaters by now, but it's still 95 degrees outside. I've learned that dressing in Fall colors rather than necessarily Fall styles is the way to go. Incorporating those colors provides a great Fall look without having to sacrifice keeping cool.

Senior Year Sorority House Desk Tour

Any post I do where I get to show you a little bit of my room is really fun for me.  This post kicks off my last round of "tours" for college rooms! It's crazy that it's already gone by that quickly. This year I am living in my sorority house with 40 other girls and so far have been loving it! It's fun to live with so many people and being so close to everything has been great too. Especially since I lived in an apartment last year I like living in house because there's always something going on or people around to hang out with.

The rest of my room isn't ready for a full room tour just yet, but my desk has come together. It's nothing too fancy and honestly a little cluttered, but perfectly stores everything I need it to! My bed faces my bed this year with a small dividing wall which serves as a nice shelf to keep my bracelets, some books, and washi tape (ha!).

On my actual desktop I have my earrings on this great earring holder (only $5!) Some of my earrings are just a little too big and take up more than half of the whole holder! When I was first looking for a mirror last year I had trouble finding one that was sort of cute and not silver. This square one is perfect and this year I've stacked it up on a few books to bring it up to the perfect height to do my makeup.

I recently took off the marble laptop skin I had on my computer for three years and replaced it with this cool blue one that I designed with CaseApp! I have loved playing around on their website because you can take pretty much any picture or pattern you have and make it into your own personalized case for your phone or computer! The palm leaf phone case in a few of these pictures sitting on my desk is also from CaseApp. If you use the code SERENDIPITYDASH20 you can get 20% off all of their cases.

Previous Room Tours:

Keep an eye out for a full room tour soon! Can't wait to share more of my room in the sorority house with y'all!

Flatforms

My latest footwear obsession is with flatforms! The style is perfect for any casual outfit. For a shoe that gives you a little height, they're very comfortable. I'd choose to walk around in any of these shoes all day rather than the traditional heels I have in my closet.  While wearing these shoes you aren't putting too much pressure on any one area of your foot, which makes it easy to be on your feet in these for long periods of time!

I know that Fall is quickly approaching and the climate in most areas does not allow for sandals anymore, but living here in Texas I couldn't help but include a few pairs of sandals too! I mean, if the temperatures won't be breaking eighty degrees for at least a few months you can bet I'm still wearing my favorites sandals!

Red Sundress

I passed by this dress in so many stores or on people this Summer.  Each time I saw it I fell more and more in love with it.  I'm so happy I ended up buying it because it has easily become one of my favorite dresses in my wardrobe, which says a lot because I have a lot of dresses that I love.

What drew me to this dress was how versatile it is even though it's such a bright color. Of course this was perfect for the summer, but I can definitely see myself continuing to wear it all throughout the fall especially with a denim jacket when it gets colder.

Friday Five 9/8

Friday Five for September 8

1. How funny is this video? Fall fashion trends are best when recited from the funniest 7-year-old out there. She's hilarious. Have you seen her videos as "Charlene" on instagram?

2. Shopbop got a little facelift this week and while the changes are pretty minor it's throwing me off! I spend my most time shopping on Shopbop's website because I love how easy it is to navigate. I'm not sure if I like the new look yet or not.

3. Aimee Song is one of my favorite bloggers! Her video about NYFW was so interesting and inspiring to watch.

4. I'm thinking of everyone in the path of Hurricane Irma this weekend! Definitely hoping this takes a turn and heads in a different direction, although that may be a little too hopeful. Either way, stay safe!

5. Preptista's dorm room in her sorority house is so cute!! It's so fun to see what other people's sororities look like and her room is so well put together! I will be showing a peak into my room next week on the blog with a desk tour! For now, I decided to add a picture of my bed to this post! I can't wait to share the rest.

This week's recap:

September 7, 2017

Shiny and Neutral

I love how simple this outfit is.  It's perfect for early fall because this linen shirt can keep you cool when the afternoons are still pretty warm.

When I bought these shoes from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale I thought they were fun because they are definitely outside of my comfort zone. They're different from all of my other shoes, but I think the silver is a fun way to spice up a simple outfit like this!

September Playlist 2017

This month's playlist is a looong one, but very good nonetheless! I have been just obsessed with Camila Cabello's song Havana. It's so good.

I can't decide how I feel about Taylor Swift's new vibe. I love Look What You Made Me Do, but think that ...Ready For It? Kind of just sucks. What are your thoughts? I'm still looking forward to hearing the rest of her new album though.

Sweater Tank

This is just about the perfect outfit for fall here in Texas. It's still way too hot so a normal sweater is totally out of the picture, but a sleeveless option like this is just about bearable! I will be wearing this outfit when I have to dress up for class or any event in my sorority.

This watch that I have been wearing lately is from Daniel Wellington. I've seen their watches before and was excited when they offered to send me this rose gold one! They've been kind enough to pass along a coupon code for 15% off with 'DASHOFSERENDIPITY'.

White After Labor Day

It's Labor Day and while some people may be packing up their favorite white clothing items for the winter, I am keeping mine at the front of my closet. I thought it would be fun to recap all of the white outfits I wore this past Summer that I am excited to bring into Fall. I can't wait to accessorize all of these staples a little differently to fit seasonally.

Friday Five 9/1

Happy Friday!!! Today has been a crazy busy week, so I'm looking forward to having an extra day in the weekend this week.  It's already September, but I have to admit, August has gone by kind of slowly.  I think it's because so much has happened and changed this month.  From going to Martha's Vineyard, finishing my internship, starting school again and getting some things done for my sorority, I've managed to fit a lot into this month.

1. My biggest project this summer was planning and preparing for my sorority's Back to School party! We haven't really done anything like this in the past, but as soon as I took over the position of VP of Public Relations last year I knew this was something I wanted to do. It turned out to be such a fun way to celebrate the start of the school year.  We had a delicious cake from Cade's Cakes (pausing for a second because if you haven't tried Cade's Cakes and your live in Dallas you need to order one for your next occasion! but do it way in advance because she usually books up pretty fast!).  I was so excited to have Smilebooth come with their gif photo booth (shown above).  Overall it was a very fun day and I was excited it all came together!

2. It's almost been a week since Hurricane Harvey disrupted many lives here in Texas. I'm so grateful everyone I know who is from Houston is safe and their families are too. If you are looking for ways to help, this article outlines some great relief efforts to support.

3. I showed these shoes on my Instagram story earlier this week.  I love them, but had trouble wearing them at first because I couldn't find the right outfit. I've finally figured out some good outfits to wear them with and have been living in them the past two days!

4.  I mentioned last week that this Saturday is our first football game of the year! I still have no idea what I want to wear and I'm now kicking for myself for not thinking about this sooner!

5.  I saw this top in Zara last week and thought it was so cool but had absolutely no clue how I'd wear it, so I left it at the store. But I am going to Vegas in about a month and think it could be cute to wear while I'm there! What are your thoughts? It's a little more adventurous than my normal wardrobe, but that might be what Vegas calls for...
