Statement Jeans

I stumbled upon this pair of jeans while browsing the internet earlier and it sparked a new craving for statement jeans or at least a pair of jeans that are a little more interesting than your average dark wash pair. Even though those are on sale, I don't know if I think they'd be flattering or not.

On my criteria for the perfect pair of statement jeans (for me at least) is to have the cut be a skinny or straight leg. I figured that if the wash itself is going to be a little more intricate, it might have an anti-slimming effect (could totally be wrong on this theory...).

Snow Day Loving

Jacket / Hat

Something you may not know about me is that I absolutely love the snow, I'd even go as far to say that I love winter, which I don't think many people would agree with me about. It doesn't snow very often in Dallas, and if it does it's usually more like a little sleet or ice. Getting to experience a bigger snowstorm while I was home over break was such a treat because I have missed every other snow day since I went to college.

Grey Sweater

This outfit is incredibly comfortable and perfect for the first few weeks of classes. I absolutely love this sweater and it was a great Zara find, but I was only able to find the same style in green online. I'd check a Zara near you if you're looking for the grey! It's a great layering piece because it is very warm and could be worn in place of a light jacket on days that aren't too cold.

Holiday Gifts I've Been Loving

I wanted to share a "What I got for Christmas" post here on the blog after binge watching so many youtube videos about the subject, but unfortunately never got around to writing up the post. Since it has been a little while, I thought I'd share the holiday gifts I've received that I have been loving or using most often. There are definitely some things I received so kindly from my friends and family that have already been so useful in my daily routine/life!

T3 Whirl Trio | You have probably seen someone talk about this curling wand trio before, but perhaps you're wondering if it lives up to the hype? Well, yes! It definitely does! I love this curling wand and it is so easy to travel with all three of these interchangeable wands!

White Monogram Carry-On | I have gone on a few short trips since receiving this carry-on and it has completely changed my traveling experience. The bag is the perfect size and although I was a little afraid that it would get dirty, so far it hasn't and is easy to clean.

Star Print Sweatshirt and Sweatpants | Oh my gosh y'all haven't lived until you have worn this set. It's so incredibly comfortable and feels a little more put together (aka maybe I can go on a starbucks run in it) compared to my usual unmatched oversized sorority sweatshirt and sweatpants.

Watermelon Glow Mask | I love this mask because it smells delicious and I think that it works really well! My skin feels healthier after I use it.

8 Things I'm Looking Forward to in 2018

I'm hopeful that 2018 will be a great year. While I did start the year off by walking forcefully into a glass door before knocking myself out with NyQuil since I have a sinus infection, I'm pretty sure things can only go up from here.

There are so many exciting, and most likely life-changing things that will happen this year.

1. I'll be graduating college in May. That terrifies me and excites me at the same time. I'm excited to see what the future holds after graduation because at the moment I truly do not know.

2. After graduation, I will hopefully be getting a job, which is very exciting.

3. That job will hopefully be in New York, which means I will be leaving Dallas and moving to the city I've been dreaming of living in my entire life.

4. I have a lot of travel plans for the first few weeks of 2017 and would love to do more traveling as the year unfolds. I will be heading to San Antonio next weekend to celebrate one of my best friend's debutante and in February I will be heading to New Orleans for Mardi Gras!

5. This semester I planned my schedule so that I only have classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, leaving me with four day weekends every single weekend. I am so excited to use this unique schedule to focus on blogging because I will probably never have a schedule like this again in my life!

6. I'm excited to really take care of my skin by pledging to always wash it and take off my makeup and stick to a nice routine. I've made a resolution to stop touching my face because I know that it just makes everything worse and is totally not worth it.

7. On that note, I really want to take care of my body by only eating healthy foods that will leave me feeling good and working out more often with the time off I will have in my schedule.

8. I am excited to read more. While I've been away in Florida the past few days I read a book and a half, which made me realize how much I love reading again. I definitely want to read more books this year so let me know if you have any recommendations!

17 Favorite Things from 2017

Happy New Year everyone!! The start of a brand new year and the perfect opportunity to kick those resolutions into gear.

As the year wraps up, I've done some reflecting on some great things over the past year and thought about rounding them up for today's post, the first of 2018! I have tried my hardest to look back on the entire year so that this post is really representative of the year itself, not just the past few months.
