Ripped Jeans

Shirt (similar) / Jeans (Forever 21/Similar here!) / Necklace / Shoes

I love wearing these jeans.  I love how the ripped style can make any outfit just a little more fun.  I purchased these at Forever 21 about a year ago and unfortunately couldn't find an exact match on their website, but I linked a pair from a different store above!

I've been trying to explore wearing casual outfits lately.  There's a happy medium between looking very dressed up wearing workout clothes.  I think I've found it with an outfit like this one.

Black and Yellow

Romper c/o / Necklace / Shoes

This has been my go-to outfit for going out or going to brunch recently especially during the shift from winter into spring.  This is such a comfortable romper, and it's pretty flowy too.  I really love anything that's off the shoulder, because the style makes an outfit just a little more fun.

I've been wearing this necklace non-stop in so many different ways.  Since it's just a single strand there's so many different ways to tie it, wrap it, and knot it! I also think that the yellow is a unique color that I don't normally wear, and I've also never seen on another necklace!

Tobi is one of my favorite stores to shop for Rompers like this one.  I found myself browsing their site a lot after I started college so if you're a soon to be college freshman looking for some new clothes to add to your wardrobe, check out their Dresses (some prom dresses too!), Blouses, Sweaters,  and Jeans

I'll be posting two more outfits with Tobi in the next few weeks, so look out for them!

Also, on a side note, I've changed my layout a little bit! Let me know what you think in the comments.  I'm not exactly sure how much I love it, because I definitely have a lot of updating to do but I think it's the start of a nice change!

Black Tobi Crop Top

Top c/o / Skirt / Necklace (Similar) / Shoes

I love this outfit for night time or going out because not only is it very comfortable, but it's also fun and cute! The shape of this top from Tobi is very fun, yet relaxed, which goes perfectly with the more structured skirt.  I think this outfit could be dressed down too with a denim jacket and worn with flats for a nice transition for a day time look.

I think Tobi has a lot of great tops that go really nicely with skirts (they have a great selection of skirts too!).  I always have such a difficult time finding tops to go with the skirts I have in my closet.  I find myself not wearing those skirts because of this, so I am not allowing myself to purchase more skirts until I find enough shirts to solve my dilemma!

I would really recommend Tobi to anyone looking for great pieces of clothing that don't necessarily break the bank (plus you can get 50% off your first order when you log in with Facebook!!!).  Check out more of their dresses, rompers, cardigans, and maxi dresses!

Dash Dines: Mercat Bistro

My mom was in town this past weekend for my sorority's Mom's weekend! It was so nice to have her here to not only get to spend time with her, but also because we got to explore some new restaurants in Dallas.  Having a parent in town is a great opportunity to try somewhere new that may be a little more expensive than the places I would ordinarily go with friends.  There are so many restaurants in Dallas that I want to try, so this was a great weekend to knock some off my list!

I've been meaning to stop in Mercat Bistro for a few months now after I spotted one of their Instagram posts and fell in love with the cute french cafe.  The day we went was incredibly dreary and rainy, which I think made this restaurant even cuter.  It was so cozy sitting inside the small and bustling Bistro.

The brunch menu was full of mouth watering dishes, but ultimately my mom and I decided to go with the green chile crepe and the quiche lorraine, and to start, we ordered the ricotta and honeycomb.

The ricotta and honeycomb was unexpectedly cold, but delicious all the same.  The ricotta actually had the consistency of cheesecake because it was pretty firm, but spread across the toast with a bit of honey it was so delicious.

The slice of quiche that came as my meal was just huge.  I was hungry, but definitely couldn't have finished the whole slice, no matter how much I wanted to.  It was so delicious.  Incredibly fluffy and well seasoned, I can say this was the best quiche I've ever had.

My mom's savory crepe was just as good.  The crepe was just as fluffy and filled with scrambled eggs, cheese, and jalapeños.  It almost reminded me of a breakfast taco with a french twist.

We left our meal happily full and excited to come back again!

Styling a Baseball Cap

Jacket / Shirt / Scarf (Similar here!) / Jeans / Shoes (Similar here!) / Hat c/o / Sunglasses

After an amazing winter and spring so far, Dallas will finally be getting its share of bad weather this week.  During the glimpse of sunshine for a little while, I headed out to get some outfit pictures in this incredibly comfortable, yet cute outfit.

I have been living in this hat recently that was sent to me by Charleston Monograms (along with this super comfortable t-shirt!).  I love the yellow color because it's perfect for spring.

I wore this outfit to class this week and got a lot of compliments.  I think the bright colors are different't without being too eye catching.  But this top is so comfortable!

April Playlist

It's been so long since I last posted a monthly playlist on the blog.  I was so happy that a friend on Tumblr asked where these posts have been and expressed their interest in seeing more! I love to hear what you all want to see on the blog because it gives me motivation to make those posts!

I've been loving all different kinds of songs lately so this playlist is a whole mix.  My favorite album recently has been the new The 1975 album!! It's so good and makes for great studying music.

8 Adorable Phone Cases

I love phone cases and used to get a lot of hate for having so many when I used to post my daily #ootd on tumblr.  But, what's wrong with having more than a few phone cases? There are so many cute ones out there and recently I've been forgetting to change mine out.  Maybe it's because my phone screen is completely shattered?

My favorite of this bunch is the piñata phone case!!! If you saw my instagram last night you may notice a piñata theme going on in my life.  I don't know what it is, but suddenly I'm piñata obsessed, and for no reason!!

Also, all of these phone cases are 25% off (yippee!!) with the Shop Bop friends and family sale!! Today's the last day to shop, so hurry and save while you can with the code inthefam at check out!

Which phone case do you like the most?

White on White

I don't abide by the whole "no white before memorial day rule" so you'll probably find me in the dead of winter wearing white jeans with my riding boots.  Some of my friends can't stand this, but I think wearing white in the colder months is such a refreshing fashion statement.

After searching for white dresses for my initiation last weekend, I stumbled across a lot of white items that caught my eye that are perfect for spring.

I wore the top left dress last weekend and I got a lot of compliments on my dress because the eyelet stands out without being too daring.

Life Lately

Hello, peeps! It's been awhile since I just wrote a post about my life.  These past few months have gone by insanely fast, and it's crazy to think that the end of the semester is coming up.  I feel like the next few weeks will fly by, which makes me a little nervous because I (still) don't exactly know what I'm doing this summer.

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have heard that I was accepted into the digital media advertising program at my school, Southern Methodist University (!!!!!!).  I put my all into my application and pre-requesite classes, so the past few weeks of waiting to hear back has been tough.  But, on Thursday I opened up my laptop and got a email that I had been accepted! Only 15 people get accepted into the major each year so I'm very grateful that I was one of those students selected this year.

As I said in my Instagram post, I don't think I would have been accepted to the program without all of you. I was able to talk about my blog and the success it's had so far and could kind of use it as an example that I can be apart of the digital advertising community because I already am.  So, THANK YOU for reading and making this blog successful!

On another note, I'm working hard to try and be more organized and prepared with the things I'm posting on here! I'm hopefully going to get out to shoot more outfits soon and really want to get working on a redesign (if you work on designing blogs or know someone who does please let me know!!)

I also really want to make sure I'm posting what you want to see! So please leave a comment with any post requests!
