Patriotic Memorial Day Styles

Nothing says summer like a patriotic red, white, and blue outfit.  For me, the color combination is a go-to not only because it allows me to show off some USA pride, but because it's also my school's colors! The combination is so classic and perfect for a weekend like this one as we celebrate Memorial Day!

I love all of these red, white, and blue pieces.  You can really never go wrong with something in any of these colors because they're really easy to wear.  Even a red shoe, which may seem a little bold, could easily be worn with a navy dress or a simple outfit like jeans and a white t-shirt.

Summer Bows

Shirt c/o / Pants / Shoes (Similar) / Sunglasses / Clutch / Earrings

How adorable is this off the shoulder top from Lauren James? I absolutely love it and I think it's perfect to kick off summer in.  I am so excited that summer is finally here, but I'm honestly hoping time will start to slow down because before I know it I'll be heading back to school to start my senior year of college!!

I love this top with white jeans, but I also think it would look really nice for a more understated look with regular washed jeans too.

Sporty Summer

Top / Skirt (Similar) / Bag / Sunglasses / Shoes

I've loved wearing my denim skirts lately. I have this one in addition to a pink one (that's not totally denim, but the same style) that I've worn on the blog in the past.  This skirt was really cheap from H&M, but when I bought it, it was probably about 7 inches longer and hit right at the middle of my knee.  It was pretty unflattering, but the great thing about this style of skirt is that you can cut the hem and adjust the length so that it's perfect for you.  It was so easy to customize this skirt exactly to my liking.

Tips For Making It Through a Busy Week

Last week was such a busy week in my classes. As it gets closer to the end of the year my classes definitely start to pick up and I find myself spending late nights in the library.  When I have more than one or two tests in a week, it can be difficult to keep my energy up and motivate myself for everything else I have going on.  I wanted to share some of my tips for making it through those weeks where it just seems like there’s too much going on.

Plan ahead. It is so important not to take your week day-by-day especially when you’re busy.  Thinking about what you have coming up makes it easier to allocate your time more efficiently.  For example, I know that Wednesdays are my absolute busiest days and I don’t get out of classes or meetings until at least 5:30.  So, I have to plan accordingly and make sure I get a lot of my work done on Monday or Tuesday so that I’m not overloaded on Wednesday.

Study with friends. Whenever I go to the library I usually try to recruit a friend or two to come along with me.  While not everyone needs to be studying at the same time, having a friend there with you makes it a little more fun and you don’t feel like your missing out on as much with your friends who aren’t studying.  Having friends in the library with you is also great for when you decide you need to go on a coffee run or want to grab a snack!

Treat yourself to coffee. While I normally try not to drink a lot of coffee during a normal week, when I’m studying I let myself indulge in something a little sweet that will also keep me awake.  The new Coconut Creme Pie iced coffee flavor at Dunkin’ Donuts is so delicious and the perfect studying treat! I haven’t tried their new Butter Pecan flavor but I think that’s what I’ll have to go for next.  After I have an iced coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts I’m ready to spend a few hours focusing on school work!

Summer Dresses

How cute are all of these dresses? All of these fun, colorful dresses would be perfect for many different summer events.  Dresses are one of my favorite things to wear, especially when it's warm because they're so easy.  All you have to do is find a dress you like and your whole outfit is together. I find dresses to be extremely comfortable too.  Maybe it's just me, but I'd prefer to wear a flowy dress over jeans anyday.

Mother's Day Gift Guide

Mother's day is just around the corner! Only two weeks until we celebrate the favorite ladies in our lives.  This is probably the busiest time of year for any college student, so I gathered some of my favorite gifts that I'm sure any Mom would love to save you valuable studying time.  I love these small "lantern" earrings from Tuckernuck! I know my Mom would absolutely love them. They look a lot like the bubble style earrings that are so popular now, but they're a little less of a statement.

What gifts have you found for your Mom this year?
